چکیده
Heavy cannabis use is associated with an increased risk of psychosis. However, the psychological mechanisms involved, and interactions established factors for cannabis-related psychosis, remain unclear. This study examined role cognitive fusion, a candidate vulnerability factor during acute THC intoxication, interaction key – developmental trauma schizotypy. Twenty general population cannabis-using participants were administered or placebo in within-participants, double-blinded randomised study. The dream as a model for psychosis: an experimental approach using bizarreness as a cognitive marker.
Many previous observers have reported some qualitative similarities between the normal mental state of dreaming and the abnormal mental state of psychosis. Recent psychological, tomographic, electrophysiological, and neurochemical data appear to confirm the functional similarities between these 2 states. In this study, the hypothesis of the dreaming brain as a neurobiological model for psychosi...

There is growing interest in the relationship between cannabis and psychosis. The link between cannabis use and psychosis comprises three distinct relationships: acute psychosis associated with cannabis intoxication, acute psychosis that lasts beyond the period of acute intoxication, and persistent psychosis not time-locked to exposure. Experimental studies reveal that cannabis, tetrahydrocanna...

Huestis and Cone reported in [J. Anal. Toxicol. 22 (1998) 445] that serial monitoring of D-THC-COOH/creatinine ratios in paired urine specimens collected at least 24 h apart could differentiate new drug use from residual D-THC-COOH excretion following acute marijuana use in a controlled setting. The best accuracy (85.4%) for predicting new marijuana use was for a D-THC-COOH/creatinine ratio 0.5...
متن کاملCognitive impairment as a risk factor for psychosis
Since the time of Kraepelin and Bleuler, it has been recognized that schizophrenia is associated with a profound and persistent cognitive impairment. This paper reviews the major clinical and epidemiological studies of cognitive functioning in schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, and presents several possible models to explain the association between cognitive impairment and psychosis. ...
